What do the people of Alliance think about the City choosing not to spray for mosquito?

  3. I think it depends on the empirical data. There are enough cases (samples) around the country to know if spraying is or is not effective. Or, if other methods, like the ones Alliance uses are as effective as spraying.

I think that you will find that the jury is still out on sprayings effectiveness.

In addition, it’s my understanding that this has just recently become a big nuisance. That being said consider the cost of Equipment, Labor, and Insurance.

Now go through all that and next year we go back to less than 20 inches of precipitation a year. Which will happen sooner or later after all it’s an average?

And I agree, with the previous comment get some Off.

  4. when enough cases of west nile virus come about it might be good to rethink spraying. Two summers in a row have seen lots of rain. Unless people do something with the stagnant water the problem will just increase. Can't believe that Laing Lake is helpful due to the geese. New York state has decided to deal with the geese population by shooting them as they are over run. Meanwhile use DEET and take the Vitamin B-1. Mosquitoes don't like it.
