My Ideal Newspaper!

Describe here what your ideal Alliance Times-Herald would look like.  What would it include?  What would it not include?  How about the layout?  The design?  You can even talk about distribution and cost.

  1. Suggestion:
What about a 'weird news section'.
Today's would be- a New York Governor candidate running under the "THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH PARTY" Head line is "Only in New York".
Keep it lite, funny, as clean as possible.

  2. I'd like to see less reporting on sexual assaults, child molestation, etc. There are days when the paper has multiple stories about various assaults all over the country. Local stories of that type are of course relevant, but it seems like whoever is in charge of choosing national stories to print is obsessed with sex crimes. Certainly there has to be something more fun and uplifting to read about than molestation!

Your over-reporting of this type of crime serves to desensitize the public, so that when it does happen locally, in a way that is relevant to us, the general public will care LESS than they would have otherwise. You should INCREASE shock value of what should be a shocking crime by only reporting on it when it matters.

If you don't understand desensitization, please read: http://www.bookrags.com/research/desensitization-and-media-effects-eci-01/
